Christmas parties! 
Рождественские праздники!

Christmas Party time just started. We normally bring the finger food and wrapped gifts. And we like to exchange gifts here. So, every party I attend, I have to come up with a present. Usually it is a Christmas Tree ornament, yarn, book + a bar of my soap + hot pad or something special...
The picture below is from the first Christmas party - my Sewing Guild.
It was 10 of us. We ate, talked, did "show and tell" and exchanged gifts. I was taking the pictures. :-))

Пред-Рождественские празднования уже начались. Первое у нас была во вторник. Это наша Швейная Гильдия. Я конечно делаю фото. 
Здесь любят собираться на такие вот пред-праздничные посиделки. Собираемся в удобное время, приносим еду и подарки. Подарки обычно завернуты и упакованы, все анонимно. Подарки нумеруем. Ну и потом тянем жребий - кому какой номер выпадет. 
Я обычно в подарок включаю - мое мыло, елочное украшение, книгу, пряжу, прихватки .... ну и так далее. На Швейном собрании мы покушали поболтали, показали наши швейные проэкты, обменялись подарками и поговорили о программе на следующий год.

Hot Pads.
This is a pretty cool double crochet pattern. Found it on YouTube and decided to use. Hard on my fingers, but totally worth it!
Прихватка.
Это довольно толстая прихватка. Использовало хлопковую толстую пряжу и крючок 5 мм. Пальцы болят, но прихватка того стОит! Вязала я ее по видео с Ю-Тюб, но никак не могу его найти. 

I used cotton yarn and 5mm crochet hook. Used up about 48 grams of variegated yarn.
I cannot find the original video I used, but here is a short one, that gives you a general idea.

Katniss Cowl. If you are Hunger Games movie fan, you'll recognize the pattern. Just began to knit it. Actually the hoop part is done using crochet hook.

The Scarf. I received an order to make 4 of these scarves. It is paid pattern on Ravelry.

And this is the yarn I ordered from KnitPics for the scarves. It is Swish DK superwash in color Garnet Heather. Already made 3/4 of the first one, but don't have a picture yet.

Пряжу я заказала из НитПикс, это Свиш, обработанная шерсть в цвете граната. Я связала уже 3/4 шарфа, но фото еще не делала.  Проэкт на Рав - клик английский текст.

Nicole's slippers. It is an old way of making slippers, but for some reason my daughter requested them. It took me two evenings to finish. Buttons are from my polymer clay collections.

Тапочки для Николь. Это очень старомодные тапики, но ребенку их захотелось. Думаю потому что они здорово скользят по полу! Она в них устраивает фигурное скольжение. Ушло два вечера на их изготовление. Полимерные пуговки из моих запасов.

Nicole's Art. On Saturdays, Nicole goes to Art Center to take an art class. They do all sort of crafts. This time it was Christmas Gnome. Pretty creative and cute!
Поделки. Николетта ходит в Арт Студию по субботам. Там на классе они делают различные поделки или рисуют. Это один из ее последних проэктов.

Yes, yes! New soap again.
I follow a wonderful Marie's blog - HumbleBee and Me.
She gives me such inspirations. Marie's recipes are mostly simple but the ingredients she uses spike my interest. And she generously shares her recipes too. Often, after reading her next blog post, I go for a few days thinking, "How can I make something like that?!"
It happened again. She made Cranberry Sauce Soap. Love the pink color! And of course, I had to make it too. Well, I had to adjust the recipe, based on my ingredients. It is not totally a pure copy, but pretty close!
I didn't have cranberry seeds, but wanted to use unsweetened coconut shreds. And my soap has a name - Frosted Cherry Blossoms. The oils in there are - Sweet Orange, Eucalyptus Blossoms and  Rose.
Да, да! Снова мыло.
Я часто читаю блог Мари из Канады и ее посты постоянно дают мне новые толчки к эксперимантам. Мари также и рецепты дает к ее произведениям - мылу, кремам, помадам, и к  другой домашней косметике. В этот раз она сделала Брусничное мыло. Я конечно немного изменила рецепт, изходя из моих ингридиентов. Мое называется - Вишневый Цвет в Инее. Потому что припорошила мыло несладкой крошкой кокоса. Будет еще и скрабиком! Я добавила белую глину и розовый оксид (минерал), а аромо-масла - Цвет Эвкалипта, Апельсин и Роза. 
Мыло еще в форме. Выну его завтра и поставлю на просушку. 

A few weeks before I placed an order with Russian store online and got my shipment just before Marie's Cranberry soap post. I didn't take pictures of the well-missed sweets from home I received. Will show you only the second part of my order! Yes, call me crazy, but this makes me happy!
My beloved late grandma was an herbalist. She helped her entire village and her family survive during WWII, when no medical supply (nor food either) was available. I don't remember everything she taught me as a little girl, but sometimes my brain will flash glimpses of sweet memories.... I was always interested in herbs.
Do you believe in healing of medicinal herbs?

I don't have to translate the ingredients to those of you who speaks Russian. Will do it for my English-speaking friends.
Here it is -
- Birch tar
- Ichthammol ointment (medicinal ammonium bituminosulfonate (ichthyol)), also called Black Drawing Salve
- Eleuterokok extract
- Calendula extract
- dry herbs - calendula and camomile
- Rotokan - herbal mouth wash
- Sea buckthorn oil , seeds & berry meat (I paid only $20 for the whole bottle!)
- Calendula ointment
and essential oils (10g each) of - Geranium, Thyme, Melissa, Bergamot, Ylang-Ylang, Damask Rose, Rosemary, Neroly, Sage

А пару неделями раньше я сделала закупку в Русском магазине онлайн. Не буду показывать сладости.... Покажу только то что купила для мыла и кремов. Уверена что вы все можете прочесть. Скажу только что Облепиховае масло стоит здесь баснословных денег. А я купила большую бутылочку за 20 долларов.  Как впрочем дорогие здесь и Ихтиоловая мазь и Розовое масло. Да, масла по 10 гр. 
Моя бабушка знала травы и вовремя Второй Мировой Войны помогла выжить не только своей семье но и деревне в которой она жила. Она знала много сьедобных растений и лечебных. Помню что она меня тоже учила, мне травки всегда были интересны. Конечно я не помню все-все, но иногда память меня радует. Я продолжаю изучать травы.
Так что я ну очень довольна покупкой.

Доброго времени суток, мои Друзья!
Как проходит ваше лето?
Наше просто пролетает с неимоверной скоростью.

Nicole just finished one week of VBS camp at St.Paul Lutheran Church. Those who don't know what VBS is - it is a free camp for kids run by churches in summer time. They are usually run 9am - 12pm. You bring your child to church, signed in, and leave. Children are then put in the same age groups and they do crafts and arts, learn songs, play, etc.... They will also receive free snack and lunch.
That gave me and other moms a needed break for grocery shopping and such.

Николь на этой неделе закончила VBS  лагерь при церкви. Для тек кто не знает что такое VBS, постараюсь обьяснить. Многие церкви организовывают бесплатные легеря для деток, летом. Деток привозят в 9 утра и они там поют, играют, делают всевозможные поделки, кушают... и т.д. Потом мы из забираем в 12 дня. 
За это время я и многие мамы получают такое необходимое свободное время для закупок продуктов или отдыха.

Let me share with you a few custom orders I finished last week.
First is a cute Pillbox hat. These hats are so very popular with NB girls photography. So, I also decided to contribute.

Ниже, вы видите довольно популярную в фотографировании новорожденных девочек шляпку-таблетку. Вот эта моя маленькая работа. Есть в проэкте на Рав.

This order was sent out in the beginning of the month. Cute, as always!
Этот заказ был отослан в начале июня. Симпатичные одежки для малявочек!


This set was made for individual custom order. The ladie's cousin expecting a baby boy and she loves Winnie the Pooh book. The Tigger was a perfect pick for the baby.

Would like to share with you this easy-piesy Jello-cake - it makes for a very refreshing summer desert and is very moist and fruity.
Bake a basic white/yellow cake from the box mix in a shallow pan.
Poke in the cake holes with the end of wooden spoon.
While it is cooling down, make Jello (box of Strawberry flavored jello)  and pour over the entire cake. Let cool in the fridge. When cool and jello is set, add whipped cream and serve with fruits or berries.

Хочу еще и кулинарным рецептом поделиться - Ну очень Простой Желатиновый Тортик!
Он обычно содержиться в холодильнике и его так приятно кушать летом - он прохладный и сочный.
Итак, испеките бисквит (по рецепту или из коробки) в прямоугольной форме и сделайте в нем много дырок ручкой деревянной ложки. Пока корж остывает, заварите желе (4 пакета с фруктовым вкусом) и залейти им коржик. Теперь все это покрывается пленкой и убирается в холодильник. 
Через пару часов дессерт готов - покройте его взбитыми сливками, добавьте ягод и наслаждайтесь!
